I am all about SUSTAIN-ABILITY. For me that means growing people’s abilities to participate in and contribute to a sustainable future. It means identifying how each individual is capable in their own way to make small changes in their life which are sustainable for themselves as well as the planet.
I have over 20 years of experience in various international HR functions which provide an extensive foundation in understanding how people learn and adapt to change. After stepping away from the corporate world and refocusing my energy on the topic of sustainability, I rediscovered my own love of learning and how challenging it is to change my own habits (and those of my family) so that we can live with a lower carbon footprint.
This experience drove home that, if these changes are hard for me, then they are hard for everyone. I believe it is in community with each other that we can find strength and encourage each other to take small steps to a more sustainable way of doing life. By sharing my stories, and hearing my readers’ stories, I hope to inspire others to find their way and grow their personal SUSTAIN-ABILITIES.
Thanks for joining me on my journey to document these experiences in a newsletter. It is an experiment and will no doubt evolve. I look forward to hearing from you - tell me in the comments, what do you want to talk about?
How exciting to see your new newsletter and project, Rachel!! There are few issues more timely and important than this for all of us to think about and, more importantly, to act on! Looking forward to what emerges! Congratulations!
